From MAS

At MAS, everything we do is driven by our mission of inspiring a healthier Aotearoa, and this mission isn't limited to just physical health.

On MAS front coverWe can't ignore the impact that human activity is having on the health of the planet, and we know that climate change poses a significant threat to the wellbeing of our people and our land. And, alarmingly, more and more evidence is emerging that the communities most affected by health inequities in Aotearoa are also the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.

That's why we've made this the climate issue. Throughout the magazine, we talk to Kiwis who are leading the charge to make our country more resilient to climate threats.

We hear from Dr Dan Hikuroa on how Māori knowledge can help all New Zealanders understand our changing climate, and vet student Jenny Jany talks about experiencing the impact of our changing world up close on her journey to the Subantarctic Islands. We also look at how the engineering industry is designing a more resilient Aotearoa and navigating some tough conversations along the way.

In case you missed our MAS Presents digital kōrero with renowned journalist and speaker Jehar Casinader in April, he poses three questions to ask yourself in order to tell the best story about your life in 2022, no matter your circumstance.

It's really important to us that OnMAS is relevant, interesting and informative to our MAS Members. Please take a few minutes to fill in our reader survey here and let us know what you like about the magazine and what you'd like us to do differently.
