From MAS
We’re already into autumn 2023, and it’s certainly proving to be a time of change and renewal here at MAS. That’s why we’ve chosen the theme of “doing things differently” for this OnMAS issue.
Our cover story navigates the territory of different approaches. We speak to psychiatrist Dr Hinemoa Elder about her work in understanding the potential impact of the maramataka – the Māori lunar calendar – on our mental and emotional health and wellbeing.
Our theme might be doing things differently but our story on the psychology of investing makes it pretty clear that, in times of economic uncertainty, an investor’s best strategy might be sticking with the tried and true.
We also investigate the changing attitudes among young New Zealanders to smoking and ask will the next generation of Kiwis be smoke free?
The biggest change here at MAS this autumn is a change in our leadership, and we talk to our new leader – Jason McCracken – and the man he replaces and our CEO for the past 20 years – Martin Stokes.
We continue to receive excellent feedback and suggestions for content from our readers – so keep
the emails coming to onmas@mas.co.nz.
